Sign-up Today for MIGHTYminnow's Website Weekend Class

Oakland-based MIGHTYminnow Web Studio & School started out as a company that specialized in hand-crafted, custom-designed websites for nonprofits and small businesses. (They still do this, and you can see a lot of examples of their custom graphic design work on their website at http://www.mightyminnow.com/work/.)

Over the years, MIGHTYminnow has increasingly focused on ways to empower their clients - not just to maintain their own websites, but to actuallybuild websites from scratch - which is a great way for individuals and small businesses to manager their costs and gain valuable technical expertise. The culmination of these efforts is the hugely popular Website Weekend course (www.mightyminnow.com/classes/) in which participants construct a complete website in just 48 hours.

The next Website Weekend class is Nov. 2nd & 3rd. For more information or to register, call 510-629-1440 or visit www.mightyminnow.com/classes/.

As a small, local, woman-owned business, MIGHTYminnow is commited to helping fledgling organizations with the ultimate goal of strengthening Oakland's local community and economy. Founded by Oakland's very own Kristin Long, MIGHTYminnow opened a brick and mortar space at 14th & Broadway in April, 2012. With a large classroom for training nonprofits and small businesses, the space is a perfect setting for Kristin and her colleagues to run Website Weekend. During the 2-day course, students go from a blank white screen to a fully-functional, beautiful, easy-to-maintain website. With a 3:1 student-teacher ratio, and talented staff guiding students every step of the way, participants create high-quality WordPress websites for their organizations in just one weekend. Topics covered in class include crafting a compelling home page, adding and organizing sub-pages, SEO best practices, integrating social media, adding newsletter and contact forms, and much more.
