illuminating ideas: ENERGY & Sustainability Summit only a few weeks away!


 
On Wednesday, April 16 please join the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce for an educational half day economic development program, illuminating ideas: ENERGY & Sustainability Summit.” This exciting event will explore how energy, sustainability and green technology are contributing to economic growth in the East Bay and surrounding areas.

The program includes a keynote address by the immediate past Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Jon Wellinghoff and two consecutive panel discussion sessions on Green Infrastructure and Smart, Resilient Cities and Innovative Energy Technology and the Public Private Partnership. Participants will also be treated to an overview of 2014 real estate trends and demographics with an emphasis on the ‘clean and green tech sector’ from Cassidy Turley’s Director of Research, Garrick Brown.

Just Announced- Keynote for " illuminating ideas: 2014 ENERGY & Sustainability Summit"


We are thrilled, happy, honored and jumping out of our seats excited to announce that we have just confirmed Jon Wellinghoff as our keynote speaker for our Economic Development Summit on April 16th!

About Jon Wellinghoff: 

Immediate past Chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Jon Wellinghoff is an internationally recognized energy law attorney and clean tech energy expert. He is currently a partner at the law firm Stoel Rives LLP, and co-chair of the firm’s energy team.

Jon has nearly 38 years of leadership experience in federal and state energy policy, regulation, and project development. He has particular expertise in emerging clean tech energy system development, including systems for renewable energy production, smart grid, energy storage, energy efficiency, demand response, and energy infrastructure security, including cyber security.

The longest serving chair of the FERC, Jon was first nominated to be a FERC Commissioner in 2006 by President George W. Bush. He was reappointed to the Commission in 2008. In March of 2009 he was named Chairman by President Barack Obama.

Previously, Jon founded and led the Beckley Singleton, Chtd. Sustainable Energy and Clean Tech Division (2000-2006). His clients included the U.S. Navy, MGM Resorts, Powerlight (later acquired by SunPower Corporation), Ormat, and U.S. Geothermal, among others.
