Nancy Nadel new Vice Mayor of Oakland

The Oakland City Council voted unanimously last night to appoint Council Member Nancy Nadel Vice Mayor of the City of Oakland.  The City Charter says the Vice Mayor shall perform the duties of Mayor in the absence or temporary disability of the Mayor.

Vice Mayor Nadel, who has said she will not be seeking re-election to the City Council, will hold the title of Vice Mayor for the remainder of the year.  Congratulations to Vice Mayor Nadel!
