Peralta Community College Gets Parcel Tax
Local community colleges got a shot in the arm from local voters on Tuesday. Measure B, a $48/year parcel tax which will end in eight years, was approved by 72% of the voters. The tax will raise about $8 million a year and will be used to expand class offerings and make up for cuts in state funding.
The Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce supported the
tax and we congratulate our local community colleges and the students they
serve.
